We woke up Thursday to rain in Chicago. There were umbrellas everywhere. So we grabbed our umbrella and headed out into the city.
We walked down to the Field Museum...over a mile in the rain, but it wasn't bad!
I was excited to see the whale exhibit. William was excited to see the lions from "Ghost and the Darkness".So we found the lions. The man-eaters with no manes. They look pretty creepy. Supposedly they killed and ate around 130 people in Africa when they were trying to build a railroad through the lions' turf.
We also saw Sue - the largest T-Rex fossil discovered so far. There was a cool 3D movie about Sue's life, too. The monsters would have loved it!
One of my favorite parts was the Egypt exhibit. That blue-ish colored glass by my foot was a window - you could see the mummy two floors below you through that window!
We had planned on visiting the Field Museum and Shed Aquarium in the same day, since they're right next to each other. We ended up spending five hours at the museum, and never made it back down that way for the aquarium. Maybe our next Chicago vacay will include the aquarium!
