It's hard to walk around Chicago without running into things. At least for me it is. Partly because I'm clumsy, but mostly because I'm always staring at the buildings and not paying attention to where I'm going.
Isn't this beautiful?
This is another view from our hotel room - those boats were from the architectural tour we took the first evening in town. That's the Wrigley building! And the street to the right of the picture is Michigan Avenue!
This shot was taken from the Wrigley building - our hotel is just out of the shot to the left. Confused yet? Me too.
The boat tour was awesome. Our tour guide was an old guy that has lived and worked in Chicago since the beginning of time. The hour and a half flew by!
Chicago is really cool because the city decided to keep the lakeshore open to the public (rather than building right up to the water's edge) and most of the river banks are open, too. The Chicago river walk was really awesome too - and the trees were so pretty!
Tons of cute cafes along the river...
I need glasses. Then I wouldn't have to squint at everything.
William was a happy camper on the boat.
The buildings were so gigantic.
Sears Tower...now Willis Tower...
If you don't like one boat tour, don't worry - there are 47 more boat tours available. And a water taxi!
We took the 5:30pm boat tour, which was perfect because the last half of the tour was great for pictures!
Don't worry, we didn't spend the whole trip in a boat. We spent a dollar or two on the Magnificent Mile. And I squinted some more.
Wilberforce didn't love Mag Mile as much as I did...
So there's something new-ish on the Mag Mile. Marilyn!
You would not believe how many people looked up Marilyn's dress. Honestly people.
Marilyn is taller than I thought she would be.
Wilberforce was smiling all day cause he got Chicago style pizza. That's all he needed.
We're a squinty family.
If I ever get lost and can't find Will, I just look for the squinty guy. And he looks for the squinty girl. We're a perfect match, that way :)
