Colorado Beautiful
This is my favorite spot.
Which happens to be the side of a county road, two miles into my usual three to six mile morning run. I could sleep in on the days I don't work the early shift. I could run on my treadmill in my toasty house. I could just not run and do cardio on a bike in the gym.
But then who would be awake to appreciate God making this for the world?
Exactly.
I picked up a new pair of running shoes at the Nike outlet the other day, along with a "Sucking Sucks, Run Faster" t-shirt for Wilberforce to wear at our next 5k. My total bill? $30. Nailed it.
Wilberforce saw my shoes and wanted to know if they glowed in the dark.
Almost, Wilberforce, almost.
With all the floods and rain, my Hunter rain boots have come in handy.
And I found a pair of Sorel snow boots on sale online. Over 50% off. Score.
They're impermeable and waterproof. I'm not sure if that's redundant. What else would try to get in my boots besides water?
Ew. Now I'm thinking off all the stagnant flood water sitting around and how horrible it smells. And what's growing in it. I bet that stuff gets in boots and cause necrotizing fasciitis.
Unless you're wearing sweet Sorel boots like mine. I am necrotizing fasciitis free.
I also haven't been wading in standing flood water, but why push it?
Conversation that occurred this week when Wilberforce and I were brushing our teeth in the morning...
W: Is today Wednesday?
A: No, it's Leg Day.
Cable kickbacks. Feel the burn. Don't kick anyone in the face. Don't pinch your hand or hit your forehead on the weight stack (don't ask).
Lululemon is a company of geniuses. They make almost all of their pants with this handy invisible pocket in the waistband, which just happens to fit my iPhone perfectly! No more armbands for Mandapants.
Did anyone else hear about how much hinney the Broncos are kickin' this year?
Just sayin'.
And just so you know, these shoes are pretty.
My feet would be pretty with these on them.
That sounds like a stupid pick up line.
W and I packed up Larry and headed to Breckenridge for a night yesterday. I wore my ski slope best.
We ate at an awesome restaurant called "Twist". Comfort food, redefined. Whatever, it was tasty.
I love that a ton of the shops and restaurants in Breckenridge are in old houses. A lot of them are painted bright colors. Everywhere you turn, you see another quirky shop or bright restaurant or cafe. Sensory overload for a foodie shopaholic.
W ordered tacos for an appetizer. Turns out they were basically gyros...which might be one of his favorite meals in the history of food. Lucky him, eh?
At one of the little shops, we found this sign.
We put it on the mantle where we'll see it every day on our way out the door. I really want to post it in the pharmacy, but I don't think the big boss man would approve.
I also want to get a nice little pin for my nametag that says something along the lines of "eff off", but the big boss man would probably frown upon that, too.
We drove home this morning. It was raining and the weather man was reporting snow moving into the mountains. No one wants to drive in the first snow of the season.
At least I don't. And I don't wanna ride shotgun in it, either.
The scenery was even more beautiful in gloomy weather. The yellow and orange Quaking Aspen were magnificent!!
See?
Oh, ps...three weeks till CABO.
