Pancakes and Clean & Press

Chocolate Chip Cashew Butter Pancakes.
I made these morsels for Wilberforce after our killer Shoulders and Abs workout yesterday morning.  I promised him pancakes, so I made him pancakes.

I was feeling lazy, so I mixed up the batter, put it on the pan, flipped those babies, turned off the burner and said "make your own stack, old man!"

So he did.  He layered them with cashew butter and topped with maple syrup.  Simple and sweet.

I'm really loving Spoonful of Fit's Body Built program.  It's forcing me to try new techniques and movements that I would never dreamed of attempting before.

Example: The Clean and Press.

Ignore my ugly lifting face.  I can not stop my face from contorting like a freak when I'm lifting.  Fact of life.

And don't critique my form; this was my first try ever at clean and press.  I'm pretty damn proud I did it!
You might be saying "but you don't even have any weight on the bar!"
I thought I'd be throwing some 45's on the bar after getting the technique down, too.
If I were doing just cleans, I probably could have.  It's the press part that limited me to the bar.
Pressing that beast overhead for four sets of eight reps was tougher than I expected.  We'll work our way up to 45's.
Here I am, just hanging out, pressing stuff.  Probably going to have to throw Clean and Press to the top of my Favorite Work Out list.

I ran a bunch of errands yesterday.  Ate my version of fast food in the Sprouts parking lot before I did my grocery shopping.
AND I didn't even spill on myself.  I consider every meal a success if I don't have any on my shirt.

True story.

I'm a big fan of asparagus and broccoli.  And squash, but if you didn't know that by now, you've been skipping 85% of my blog posts.
Happy Sunday Funday!  Enjoy the beautiful weather, eat some delicious food, and spend a glorious day with your own Wilberforce.
