I've had a few requests from the girlies on Instagram for a house tour. And since I've figured out how to take panoramic pictures on my iPhone, I decided to take a few quick pictures.
If I had busted out the big camera, this would have been an all day ordeal, cause that's the kind of particular person I am. What a pain in the buns.
Ps...iPhones are sweet. How have I had one for 2 years and just recently figured out panoramic pics? Geeeeeez.
On to the tour. I only had time to take pictures of the upstairs...someday when I decide to clean the downstairs, I'll take those pictures. Ha. Clean. Like that'll happen.
Here we have a 270 degree view (cause 360 degrees is so overrated...and the giant windows were way too bright) of the upstairs floor, standing in the middle of the cat walk. Or bridge. Or walkway. I like cat walk. Workout room, guest bath, guest room, guest room (door is hidden behind the light fixture hanging there kinda), and alllllll the way to the right is the master bedroom door. Ta dah. Exciting stuff.
I hope this tour gets more exciting. Also, note the pull up bars hanging in two of the doorways. Fitness takes over our home.
I spend a lot of time in this room. The workout room. My trusty treadmill. I used to have a really great picture wall, but we had to get big mirrors to check our form when lifting, so we moved half the pictures and I haven't rearranged them yet. I probably won't, because I'm lazy like that.
That couch gets very little use. If Wilberforce is watching hockey or a kung fu movie or something equally un-interesting, I'll bring my food (because that's usually what I'm doing - eating) up here, sit on the couch, use my weight bench as a table, and watch some Real Housewives or HGTV while I feed. A weight bench coffee table - a must in every functional workout room.
Guest room numero uno. We call it the garden room because when we moved in it had a burgundy wall and we bought a matchy matchy bedspread for the daybed...it looked like a garden exploded. We've painted since then - the walls are a light, light, light green shade...it's hardly detectable, obviously. Except for the little brown wood thing on the left side, the bedding, lamps, and baskets, we made everything in this room. We built the bed frame, the white storage cabinets, and I made all the artwork, framed pictures, and poms. I had a crafty streak last year. Thanks Pinterest.
This room rocks when my little monsters come visit because that is actually a trundle bed. They think that is the coolest thing ever, and I can easily fit two or three monsters in here to sleep.
I love this room. The Farm Room.
It's hard to tell in this photo, but I have little knick knacks all over that remind me of home. A pig coat hanger. A piggy bank. A dinner bell. Antique Iowa license plates. A bear covered with an old chenille blanket that belonged to my great great grandma. A corn jar. And of course, yellow paisley bedding. We built this bed as well, along with the white night stand on the far side of the room. Need to find time to build another to replace the cheapo Walmart night stand on the closest side of the room.
My favorite parts of the room: the pictures on the headboard are aerial photos of my parents' farm in Iowa, taken in the 70's, 90's and a recent one from the past couple of years; two of the framed pictures on the left side are farm oil paintings my mom did when she used to paint (before those pesky kids came along); and finally, the toy cow on the windowsill that I've had since I was little.
This is the room guests usually stay in when they visit, since it's a queen bed and most adults feel like a giant gorilla when they try sleeping in a twin bed. I like it.
The Master.
The three photos above the bed are from our wedding - I heart them.
The Master Bath.
The Master Closet.
Most women squeal with delight when they walk in here (yes, I add my closet to my in-person house tour. You would, too). And I'm a nice wife and gave Wilberforce the whole right side of the closet! And two drawers. Geez, I'm generous. HA.
Sigh. I'm not sure I could survive in a home with a normal closet now. I'd have to have a monster of a garage sale to get ride of clothes. And shoes. And crap.
All right folks, that concludes the ClarkPharm Home Tour, Part I. Part II will be posted in the next, oh, 3 years or so.
Sorry if you're bored to tears right now. Here's a kleenex.
Love the duvet cover in The Farm Room. Where did you find it? I've been searching for a yellow themed bedding set and this is perfect.
