Black Hills Vacay!

Our best man got married this past weekend.  A wonderful little wedding on a family ranch in Newcastle, Wyoming.  It was wonderful and fabulous and decorated beautifully.  The food was excellent, the drinks were plentiful, the portapots were spotless, and the dancing was entertaining.

The day following the wedding, we took a friend to the airport in Rapid City to kick off our week long vacation in the Hills.  It was an awesome week! I'll have pictures from my phone to post of the wedding and a lot of our activities in the Hills, but I did manage to dig out the big gun for some family photos occasionally.

Ron and Reg surprised us with an awesome tripod for our camera.  It's a monster - it's made for scopes, but fits my camera.  Still super-light weight though...the tripod weighs less than my camera!

Outside Canyon Lake Resort in Rapid City - we stayed in their cabins...three different cabins over 5 nights, but they were awesome!

Wilberforce and I did some P90x Plyocide in the cabin the morning Ron and Reg took off for home.  Good thing, too, cause we spent the rest of the day drinking wine.  And the next day, too.

The weather was great the whole time we were there.  Super hot (90's!) the first two days, then cooled off to the 70's and 80's the rest of the week.  I loved wearing sweaters outside finally!

Again, with the uploading pictures in a crazy, nonsensical order.  Reg got me the green jacket at the Rolling Greens Club in Green River - fits like a glove and super soft!  Plus, we're samies :)

Fall foliage was just starting to show up here and there in the Hills. 

By the end of the trip, I was a pro at setting the timer and running to my spot next to Wilberforce.

Canyon Lake in the background.  Our first morning, the four of us went out on the lake in paddle boats.  A great morning workout...should snuck our fishing poles onto the boats. 

This was cabin #2 of 3 - the biggest of the three.  Unfortunately, there's a fire ban in South Dakota, so we couldn't use the fire pits.  However, we made a few suppers using the grill outside by the picnic table...it was nice to have home cooked healthy food on vacay!
