Well Hello There!

Long time, no post, eh?

Well, life has been busy with work, Wilberforce, working out, traveling, and enjoying the summer.

Oh and creating and eating delicious food....which I happen to frequently take pictures of on my phone.  It's an issue I have, this food photography obsession.  Apparently I think my food is so wonderful it needs to be documented.

And if I happen to know Wilberforce forgot to pack a lunch that particular day, I always like to send him a picture of my delicious lunch...just to rub it in a bit.

I'm a good wife.

So here's a little photo montage of the last month or so of my life, in Instagram pics, courtesy of my iPhone.

Summer Salad - spinach, yellow squash, zucchini, red peppers, tomatoes, mango, grilled chicken....mmmm, my stomach is rumbling just thinking about this!
Took this on my way home - a hazy day courtesy of countless wild fires...a creepy picture courtesy of a double exposure on my ProHDR app.
Baking up some fiesta lime chicken before Wilberforce got home from work.
My trusty lunch tote and my ever-present aviators.
Morning snack - egg white omelette stuffed with spinach and pumpkin curry.
Pumpkin Banana Oatmeal!  Pancakes have gone by the wayside...cooked oatmeal is my new breakfast staple.
The beginning of my homemade blueberry ketchup.  I've discovered that anything can be made into ketchup.  Peach ketchup, anyone?
This was taken 24 hours before take-off.  Packing more than 6 hours before take-off is unheard of in the Clark home.  I impressed myself this week!
Wilberforce's morning snack.  After breakfast, before lunch.  A giant plateful of spaghetti squash smothered in eggplant parmesan.
I need to remember to try this recipe!  A cooked egg in a smoothie?  Sounds gross, but I'll try anything...
Cooked some oatmeal with strawberry chia seed jam and threw it in a mason jar to eat on my way to the airport last week.  Mobile Oats.  And safe driving.
Enterprise gave me a free rental upgrade AND a free bottle of ice cold water!  What a deal!
Batman Logie...eating a chip.  What a monster.
We went for a nice walk with the bad boys.  Logie had some issues with his bike...with it's one training wheel.  Only the Loog....
This one speaks for itself, me thinks.
Gus and I climbed to the top of the tornado slide (see Mom and Beeknee in the upper corner?).
Braed checking out his merry-go-round injury.

The parents and Beanie...chilaxin' at the park while the monsters frolicked.
I took the three monsters to the beach.  We swam and ate snacks and died of heat stroke.
Is this heaven?  No, it's Okoboji :)
What's a day at the beach without a big ol' ice cream cone to finish off the day?
Forget Christmas.  In Iowa, the happiest time of the year is sweet corn time!  Yeah baby!
I told you, my food photography disease is a problem.  But these strawberry banana oats are beautiful.
Mmmmmm.
Decided to surprise Wilberforce with his favorite chocolate cake.
The cake has pumpkin, almond milk, and oat flour in it.  Super duper healthy, yet still amazingly delicious.
The ingredients don't look so delicious.
Still not appetizing....
Getting closer to edible...
Ah, here we are!  Chocolatey goodness.
Our little Colorado thunderstorm last night.  Nothing compared to those Iowa storms, but still nice to have every once in a while.  It even rained for a whole 3 minutes!
We celebrated Braed's birthday when I flew home last week to see everyone and partake in some sweet corn heaven.
Loogie tried stealing Braed's thunder by blowing out his candles.  He wasn't successful.
Happy Birthday Booger Braed!
The morning I left Iowa, Dad and I went out to photograph the sweet corn field.  Soooo much tastiness contained in this field...you just have to suffer through sweltering heat, bugs, and buckets of sweat to pick the ears before you can enjoy it.

Or you have to have a Dad who will go pick a 5 gallon bucket full of ears for you :)
This year has been really dry in Iowa.  As in, the crops are a few days from being a total failure if they don't get some moisture soon.  And there's nothing anyone can do but sit and wait for God to make it rain.

Stressful?  Say what?

Despite the drought, the field corn is surprisingly tall.  Evidence:
Crazy, eh?  That little short fat guy is about 5'8", I think.

I'm not sure how I grew up on a farm with a Dad with decades of farming experience, yet I can't grow a thing in my garden.  I'm a farmgirl failure.  Don't tell.

Welp, I gotta go make some lunch to bring to Wilberforce at work.  Have a lovely day!
