Chocolate Peanut Butter Cupcakes

 Wilberforce. Loves. These. Cupcakes.
Forgive the craptastic pictures - by the time I got around to baking, it was dark outside.  Indoor picutres = suckiness.

We spent the day wandering around Northern Colorado in the 20 degree weather.  Toasty.
We ate at a restaurant that we've recently discovered - they have tasty food, are never too terribly busy when we stop in, and are quick and reasonably priced.  Every experience we've had there has been great...until today.

Our waitress came to take our order.  She was a younger gal, nice enough, but the second I realized she was one of those "I don't need to write your order down, I'll memorize it!", I had a feeling things were going to go downhill.  When she left our table, I told Wilberforce how much I un-like it when waitresses insist on memorizing orders, rather then writing it down.  Who are they trying to impress?

Ten minutes later, the waitress came back and asked William how he wanted his burger done again.  I laughed in my head, but then she turned to me and said "And what did you order, again?"

Are you kidding me.

I gave her my order again, which she didn't write down, again.

Neither of us were surprised when William's buffalo burger with pepperjack cheese and a side of carrots and celery showed up as a hamburger with cheddar cheese and french fries.  Or when my half grilled chicken salad with balsamic vinaigrette arrived as a whole salad with no dressing.

*sigh*

At least the food was tasty, so the meal wasn't a total waste.
Back to the cupcakes.  Aren't these pictures horrible?
William almost died when he tried these cupcakes.  He loves chocolate and he loves peanut butter, so of course these are in the running for his all-time favorite cupcakes.
You start out by making a ball of peanut butter/sugar/butter deliciousness.  Then you mix up the chocolate batter, drop in a peanut butter ball, add a little more batter, then pop those babies in the oven.
You end up with a peanut butter filled chocolate cupcake!  The frosting was some kind of crazy peanut butter-cream cheese concoction.
Found this tasty recipe at Annie's Eats, of course.  Try it out!
I promise to have better photographs next time :)
