Tomorrow is the day of the great baking extravaganza! The girls from work are coming over, and we are going to attempt to bake seven different types of cupcakes. Fourteen dozen cupcakes. I doubt we'll get them all done, but I'll finish up the rest on Sunday.
I feel more prepared if I've already tried the recipe and am happy with how the cupcakes turn out.
So these are the Chocolate Kahlua cupcakes. Booze and cupcakes. Peas and carrots. Ketchup and broccoli.
You heard me.
I made these last night while Wilberforce was working. He had to work in the ER last night; it's a new shift the pharmacists have started covering. He said there was a grown woman running around naked last night. Luckily, I haven't experienced that in retail pharmacy yet.
These cupcakes have expresso powder in the cake, Kahlua in the frosting, and are brushed with Kahlua right after baking. Mmmmm delicioso!
The usual shot of Wilberforce stuffing his face with a cupcake.
The tops of the cakes fell a little bit after baking - I thought it was something I did wrong, but I've decided this is common. The batter was so runny I used a glass measuring cup to pour the batter into the liners. Does this have anything to do with them falling in the center? Beats the hell outta me, but I'm gonna pretend it does.
Tasty little alcohol infused deliciousness. Deliciosity. Deliciousfullness. They're delishified. Huh?
Wilberforce was patient to a point after taking that first bite. He gave me approximately 34 seconds to take pictures of the bitten cupcake before stealing it.
And I have proof, see?
Why yes, I did light candles specifically for taking pictures of my cupcakes.
Christmas is in a week. I'm excited. I hope to be done with this cupcake obsession by Christmas.
One can only hope!
Tomorrow is Christmas picture taking day. A few fellow picture takers and I are getting together to take each other's family Christmas pictures.
Should be a fairly painless process. No one has small children, and we all just need that one decent picture for the Christmas cards. Of course, I have Wilberforce, so I might need to bring a snack to keep him from misbehaving.
Whoops! Almost forgot, the recipe for the Chocolate Kahlua cupcakes is another little gem from Annie's Eats....enjoy!
I've seen a grown woman take off her clothes..in retail. True story. I work in a very interesting place.
ReplyDeleteYou are killing me with these cupcakes. I need tips on how you make them so darn pretty.
