Candy Cane Hershey Cookies

I'm a sucker for those bags of Hershey's Kisses in every flavor combination you could imagine.  Pumpkin spice, irish creme, peanut butter, chocolate raspberry (holy crap! Did you know "raspberry" has a "p" in it??? I have never spelled the word "raspberry" until just now and just figured out that "p"...thanks spellcheck), mint, and the wonderful candy cane.

I have a hard time not purchasing a bag of every flavor on the shelf when I see them.  It's one of those - put it in the cart/add up the total cost/do i really need these/so many flavors!/i don't need these/what if i can't find these anywhere else/take it out of the cart/what am i doing/put it back in the cart/i'm not getting these/ok maybe just three flavors/walk away walk away walk away/put it on the shelf/move!/just keep pushing the cart away from the kisses - kinda things.  Sometimes I win, sometimes I don't.

I can't decide if I "win" when I walk out with five bags of candy.  Hmmm.
 These are candy cane kisses.
These are cookies that deceived me.
I put them in the oven for eight minutes.  Recommended time.  "Until the edges are golden brown".  I did not see any golden browning going on after eight minutes.  After eleven minutes, I realized I had over done it.
 Still tasty, but unfortunately flat.

The pink tint is the only interesting part of these cookies, besides the obvious striped kiss in the middle. I made my own colored sugar!  I threw some sugar in a baggie with some red food coloring, mixed it around, dumped it on a plate to dry, and wa-lah!  Colored sugar!
Roll the cookie dough balls in the colored sugar and you have colored cookies!

I need Mom's recipe for peanut butter blossoms.  Those babies are tasty.
I haven't decided if I will send these to work with Wilberforce.  Not sure if they're fabulous enough for that.

I might bring them to my work place.  How horrible is that?  My coworkers get the baking mishaps.  Whoops.  Sorry, coworkers.
