Golf Buddies

William tells me he has two favorite things in life, in the following order:
1. Me
2. Golf

He didn't put it on his list, but I'm pretty sure ice cream would be number three.

We've been married over a year and a half, and have been dating since 2006...and we've never, ever been golfing, just the two of us.  I think that makes me a bad wife.

We've golfed plenty of times with friends and family, and when the weather is nice we go to the driving range somewhat often, but we've never gone out on the course alone.

So yesterday, we went.

Golfing on the course is much less frustrating than the range...maybe because sometimes Willm lets me have do-overs on the course.  He spent a lot of time helping me figure out what I was doing.  He would tell me to move one of my feet or angle my club differently or shift my weight to this foot...he's very bossy.  But since it was such a beautiful day, I listened to him.  And who woulda thunk - it worked!
I tried to help Will by telling him to move his feet and change his grip.

Turns out, I have no idea what I'm talking about.  Good thing he just rolled his eyes and ignored me.
We had such a great time, we went to another course today and played eleven holes.  Despite the sudden drop in temperature by fifteen degrees and the 30mph winds, we had a lot of fun!

I hit a 275 yard drive, which is pretty much the farthest I ever have or ever will hit the ball, so I considered the day a success.  I even parred a couple holes.  AND I beat Will on a hole!  I shall forever rub that in his face, because I'm a great sport like that.

FYI, if you are ever golfing in high winds, chilly air, but still have sunshine, laying down on the fareway will warm you up.

Don't ask me how I know.

During our golf outing yesterday, we were behind a group of four golfers and in front of a group of four golfers, so we had little extra time to goof around while golfing.  Luckily, I brought my camera, because...well...that's what I do.
I shall leave you with a joke, courtesy of Laffy Taffy (again!).

What do you call a sad strawberry?
