Heart of My Heart

In February, I decided that a Pixelated Heart Quilt was necessary.  Because it's my birthday and because by this time, I'm fully aware I have a problem.  I have discovered quilt shops and the whole beautiful fabric world that exists outside of JoAnn Fabrics.  I have held designer fabrics in my hands; I have spent hours perusing the quilt universe on Instagram; I have researched, located and visited every quilt shop in Northern Colorado and Denver (or so I thought).  I am in this.

The quilt top went together quickly, but I soon realized that my bank account did NOT like the idea of sending the 76"x106" quilt to a long arm quilter.  Quilting that monster on my home machine was daunting, so she spent some times (months?) folded up and hidden in my craft room.  I ignored her while I started more quilty projects.  She would remind me she was there every few weeks when I would uncover her while sorting my fabrics.  Cover her back up - not today, Missy.

In April, I finally mustered the determination to get her quilted - motivated by the deadline I had given myself of a friend's Cystic Fibrosis silent auction fund raiser.  Little Miss Pixelated Heart was quilted, bound, and sent to be sold.

I hope she found a good home.  Let's be honest - any home was better than the corner of the craft room.
