This Week At The ClarkPharm

We went to the gym.
We're pretty scary and beastie, eh?  Today was leg day for me.
Stability ball leg curls.  They look so easy.

They aren't.

I was taking a breather.  I take lots of breathers.  I'm a big fan of breathing.  And stuff.

We got home and I refueled with some good ol' Kabocha Zeggs.

It was a beautiful morning, so I took them out on the patio to enjoy.
Wilberforce worked Shoulders at the gym today.  He done did a good job, so I made him some ice cream.

Green ice cream.
Actually, it was Chocolate Avocado Tater Protein Ice Cream.
 Wilberforce approved.
 Two thumbs up.
Chocolate Avocado Tater Protein Ice Cream

Mash:
1/2 large sweet potato
1 small avocado
1/2 small banana

Add:
2 tbsp cocoa powder
1 tbsp dark cocoa powder
1/2 tsp espresso powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 scoop chocolate protein powder
1/2 tsp stevia (or to taste)
almond milk as needed

Mix to desired consistency.  I mixed by hand with a fork but a blender/food processor would make a smoother ice cream.  Put in freezer, mixing every 30 minutes until frozen to desired ice-cream-ness.
 I like the avocado chunks.

Not that I stole a bite or anything.

I wouldn't do that.

I worked my three day stretch this past week.  Doesn't sound like much, but ten hour shifts take up your whole day.

Boo.

I eat a lot of meals out of containers when I work.

In the back room at work...
 ...in my car...
...in between errands after work, before gym time...
Which also means I eat a lot of cold food.  But really, what can't be eaten cold?  If you've cooked it once, then put it in the fridge, I'm pretty sure it's edible whether it's warmed up or not.

I'm absolutely loving going to the gym lately.  I thought my home workouts rocked.

Gym workouts rock even harder.

Fo' sho'.

Look Dad!  I told you I'm getting little muscles!
These little muscles would be very helpful with farm work.  I could totally do squats with a couple bags of seed corn on my back.

Or I could even be productive and lift a couple bags to load the planter.  Without whining.

Imagine that.

Best part about this picture?  Anyone?
If you said "Wilberforce checking himself out in the background", you are correct.

He claims he was contemplating the weights for his next set.   I disagree.

These little monsters are hard, but I love them.  Front plate raises.
One front plate raise is not difficult.  Eight in a row are tough.  Four sets of eight supersetted with lateral raises are haaaarrrddd.

I make them easier by making ugly faces.  And sticking out my belly.
 See?  Ugly face.  Belly.

Plate lifted.

Success.

Back to the food.  Kabocha Zeggs.  All day, errry day.
And Kabocha Squash Cake in a Squash.  Bedtime snack, errrry night.
Today I grilled some portabellas and topped 'em with pumpkin dijon stuff.  And cheese.

And ketchup, but was that a shock to anyone?
Toast and chocolate.  Chocolate and toast.
Veggies and Kabocha with Balsamic Cinnamon Horseradish Cottage Cheese Tuna Mish-Mash.  What a mouthful.

A deliciously strange-but-good mouthful.

I'm watching Safe Haven right now.  It's that movie based off of a Nicholas Sparks book.  I've been wanting to see it, but had pity on Wilberforce and didn't make him go watch it in the theatre with me.

That would have been torturous for him.  He said he wouldn't mind, but I was pretty sure he wouldn't like it.

He's upstairs playing video games now.

I was right.
