Last week we had awesome weather - like end of May awesome. So of course all William wanted in the whole wide world was to go golfing, and for me to come with him.
I usually don't mind going to the driving range. It's nice to be outside, get a tan, hit a bucket of golf balls, take pictures of golf course turkeys (some call them Canadian geese, I don't), and hang out with Will. Last weeks trip to the driving range was not awesome. It was windy, the grass was all dead (it is the middle of February), and we had to hit off mats rather than grass.
Boo for mats. If you happen to be golfically challenged, like myself, you might "hit it fat" (I call it "chunking it") every once in a while. Doing that hurts when you're hitting off a mat that's sitting on a sidewalk. Ow.
This is how excited he was to go to the driving range. I couldn't say no.
Will was especially pumped because he was given new irons, a new putter, and a new driver for Christmas. And he had ordered himself this custom made something-or-other club this winter.
He's been hitting into a net in the garage all winter - this was his first chance to hit them long. He was like a little kid. Awwwwww.
I don't have any pictures of me golfing last week, because my face was not nearly as happy as William's. I hit my bucket as fast as I could, then went and got my camera and kept myself busy until Will was done hitting.
Happy Monday!
