Seattle and Dead Cats

Spent some time this morning going through some old photographs while I ate my breakfast (taco salad and sherbet...mmmm....).  I realized that Pike's Market in Seattle really is an awesome place to try out a new camera lens.

This photo is going to be displayed as an 8x10...above the toilet in the guest bathroom.  Creepy.

--------

William finished painting the office yesterday - it looks awesome!  I have a six day weekend next week (or is that a mini-vacation?) so I'm going to build the leaning bookshelves (below) and possibly get started on the desk (also below).  I think I might be able to build them myself without having Will help me hold pieces together since Dad gave me some more handy dandy bar clamps for Christmas.
I'm going to try to do my first furniture painting project, so rather than staining it I'm going to paint everything an antique white.

I think antique white shelves will look nice with this wall color (Bleeker Beige from Benjamin Moore).
I might have to make a shopping run to a craft store or hobby lobby to see if I can score some cheap baskets for my new shelves.

I packed up a giant tote (yes Dad, totes!) full of my old pharmacy school binders with hundreds and hundreds of pages of notes and had Will take them to the basement.  I don't know why, but I can let go of my binders!  It's been five years since I looked at some of those, but I guess I think maybe someday I'll need to look something up.  I'm sure google would do the same thing, but whatever.  So now I have to decide if the 47 bazillion textbooks need to be packed up as well, displayed within easy reach in the office, or lit on fire.  Decisions, decisions.  Another option would be to leave everything in the office and start piling more stuff on top of them and never, ever throw anything away and call up A&E in 20 years to come do a documentary on my hoarding issues???  I'd have to start liking cats though.  You never see a "Hoarding" episode in which there aren't at least 3 dead animal carcasses under a pile of crap in the living room.  They have standards.  So I'll have to get some cats.

Hi-ho, hi-ho, it's off to work I go.
